God speaks to us through dreams

I am very excited about the God we serve! Even though He is high and exalted, He chooses to be a God that is near. An attitude of praise draws Him close. In His sovereignty and completeness He desires to speak with us and in multi-faceted ways.

One such way that He speaks to me that has come to the forefront in my life recently is through dreams.

After reading literature by Bob Griffin and Joy Parrott, I asked the Lord to please speak to me in dreams also. How faithful is our God! The next week, my nights were filled with dreams. I took my notebook to bed and recorded them so as not to forget any details. Holy Spirit kindly interpreted the majority of what the Lord was saying. The rest will come in His time.

I would like to share one dream with you. I chose this one because He gave scripture through another witness and I love two or three witnesses.

I dreamt of cumulus clouds and the caps that build over the tops of them. I am a sky watcher and familiar with this formation. I talked to Spirit and said, “I need to look this up and see what this is called.” He said, “No, instead, discover how they form”

The answer was that they form when the storm cloud builds so fast that the moisture above the building cloud forms a cap or canopy in an arch. This does not occur with storm fronts, only in quickly building rain clouds.

Spirit then said, “The rain is coming quickly.”

That very morning a friend of mine called from Florida saying she was doing a study on watered gardens and some of the scripture reminded her of me.

Here are the three scriptures my friend shared with me, and several others Spirit led me to. They are pretty self-explanatory. So be blessed!

Then we shall know, if we press on to know the Lord: His going forth is as certain as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

And they waited for Me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. (Job 29:23)

And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto My commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn and thy wine and thine oil. (Deuteronomy 11:13,14)

And He said also to the people, “When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, ‘There cometh a shower, and so it is,’” (Luke 12:54)

He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should recieve.) (John:37,38a)

I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. (Psalm 81:10)

Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. (Zechariah 10:1)

Be glad then ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. (Joel 2:23,24)

He shall come down like the rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. In His days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. (Psalm 72:6,7)

But the land, wither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: (Deuteronomy 11:11)

So wait with joyous, confident, anticipation, precious ones in the Lord! Open wide your mouth for I hear the sound of showers and have seen the caps forming above rapidly growing rain clouds.
