Your heart's fire for God increases with Praise
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the PRAISES of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.
My father’s people tell the story of “the fire that never goes out.” The fire never ceases to burn because it was started by a great chief, and it is the sacred duty of the tribe to keep it burning.
There is a fire from God that burns in the Christian’s heart that can NEVER go out! That is the fire of His presence! Once the fire is ignited on that day of salvation, it burns within.
But for many the fire has almost gone out, and for many the fire has gone cold.
But in a few the fire still burns hot, and in some the fire RAGES. They feed the flames of the fire with praises to the Father God. They Praise Him not for what they can get from Him, or even for what He will do for them. They praise Him for WHO HE IS! These few have been touched by God. They have experienced His presence, they have SEEN Him high and lifted up, and they are undone.
What is it that feeds the flames of passion’s love? What draws God close to be present in a small group or church service? We all know that God is everywhere, but what causes Him to “localize” Himself if you will?
Praise rises to Him like incense; to the Father it is the sweet smell that attracts Him to our spot. He absolutely loves the fragrance of PRAISE. When we praise Him we are saying, “Father, I WANT YOU. I want to be with You. I want to SEE You, I want to be in your presence, Father.”
When He shows up or manifests Himself, the flames grow even hotter. Now true worship starts; people are overwhelmed by His very manifest presence. Tears of joy begin to flow freely; hard hearts are softened by His Love. People are healed in the river of His presence as they worship Him.
You won’t see anyone but Him; at that moment there is Him, and only Him. People who have been touched this way will never be the same. They are marked for the rest of their lives. The fire of God has touched them , their hearts are aflame with Praises to their God. This fire can never go out – it will burn for all eternity with a red -hot love and Praises for their God.
This is “the fire that never goes out” – Praise!
