God sends me to Jail with a Life Sentance of Love.
by Lynn Potter

God’s ministry here at the York County Detention Center is just beginning to get formed. But what led me to this ministry began years ago.

I got saved 11 yrs ago on my couch watching Billy Graham (actually too hung over to change the channel.) I was radically saved and delivered from alcohol.

I got interested in prison ministry after watching one of those court shows on TV where a man had gone out after work to a bar (like me any day of the week for 20 years) and then left and hit a car and killed an entire family. I knew then that “except for the Grace of God, there go I. “

That began the pursuit of ministering to those just like I was. I have been ministering in the York County Detention Center since March of 1998 taking in the Word and teaching worship, calling forth destiny into the “least of these”.

Currently I am involved in an emotional healing ministry and seeing people set free from lifelong crippling emotions through the power of the cross and the Blood of the Lamb. We call it prophetic prayer ministry.

Hopefully I will attend a Chaplaincy course at Heritage International Ministries (Morningstar) this fall and become certified as a Chaplain.

My dream and vision is to see those who have been chained under the life of addiction be set free to fly into the destiny they have been called to before the foundation of the world, and in turn lead others into freedom and destiny.

Lynn also is seeing much success in getting women saved and baptized. Read this great report below:

On 6.15.06 Lynn adds:

Are you ready for THIS?

The sweetheart in the baptism pictures, Kimberlee, was here at our recent Tuesday home group meeting with her Mom and my friend Karen (who is also in the pictures).

Kimberlee used to work as a “dancer”, if you know what I mean, and told me that Tuesday that she wants to go back in and talk to the women in the “dance places” and tell them there is a better way.

One night, on Mother’s day a couple years ago, some church ladies came into the club where she was dancing and handed the women there bags full of just girl things and a little Bible. Whoever would talk to them, they would sit down and just loved on them. So Kimberlee was so touched, she paid the club a $50.00 fine to leave her shift early and went home and balled in her mothers arms for a long time.

Now, she wants to go back and do the same for those still trapped. She told me the drugs and drink were just the avenue to get her mind primed for what she was doing for a living.

This young lady is 25yrs old. Her son is 6 and he is coming also to home group meetings and asked to please be able to read the scriptures together with us – this whole thing is so WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
